Vision
The Department of Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy serves as the cornerstone for academic excellence in learning, training, and research in Homoeopathy. It aims to nurture competent Homoeopathic physicians with a strong foundation in rational and evidence-based medicine, aligning with contemporary medical advancements. The department envisions a curriculum that fosters scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and ethical practice, ensuring graduates contribute to the global integration of Homoeopathy within mainstream healthcare. Through the latest Competency-Based Dynamic Curriculum (CBDC) as per National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) guidelines, the department strives to inculcate analytical reasoning, clinical proficiency, and research-oriented knowledge, enabling students to apply Homoeopathic principles in modern clinical settings.
Mission
The mission of the Department of Organon of Medicine and Homoeopathic Philosophy is to provide comprehensive education and training in the foundational principles of Homoeopathy. The curriculum is structured to equip students with profound knowledge of Hahnemannian philosophy, fostering an in-depth understanding of the principles of individualization, vital force, miasms, and holistic treatment approaches. The department integrates modern pedagogical techniques, clinical exposure, and interdisciplinary learning, ensuring students develop competency in case analysis, repertorization, and scientific research.
Course Outcome
At the end of the course in Organon of medicine and Homoeopathic philosophy and Fundamentals of Psychology, the BHMS student shall be able to:
Explain the Cardinal Principles and Fundamental Laws of Homoeopathy.
Describe the concept of Health, Disease, and Cure in Homoeopathy.
Interpret a case according to the Hahnemannian Classification of Disease.
Apply the Theory of Chronic Disease to determine the miasmatic background in a case.
Demonstrate case taking and show empathy with the patient and family during case taking.
Demonstrate analysis and evaluation of the case to form the Portrait of Disease.
Apply the concept of Susceptibility to determine posology in a given case.
Interpret the action of the medicine in a case based on Remedy Reactions.
Apply knowledge of various therapeutic modalities, auxiliary measures, and their integration with prevalent and other concepts in patient management.
Identify obstacles to cure and plan treatment accordingly.
Display qualities, duties, and roles of a physician as a true practitioner of healing art.
Develop competencies essential for primary healthcare, clinical diagnosis, and treatment of diseases through the judicious application of homoeopathic principles.
Recognize the scope and limitations of Homoeopathy and to apply Homoeopathic principles for curative, prophylactic, promotive, and palliative and rehabilitative primary healthcare for the benefit of the individual and the community.
Discern the relevance of other medical systems for referral and life-saving measures so as to address clinical emergencies.
Develop capacity for critical thinking and research aptitude as required for evidence-based Homoeopathic practice.
Demonstrate aptitude for lifelong learning and develop competencies as and when conditions of practice demand.
Be competent enough to practice Homoeopathy as per the medical ethics and professionalism.
Develop necessary communication skills to work as a team member in various healthcare setting and contribute towards larger goals of national policies such as school health, community health, and public health initiatives.
Identify socio-demographic and psychological cultural, environmental and economic factors that affect health and disease, and plan homoeopathic intervention to achieve sustainable development goals.

At the end of BHMS program, a student must
1) Develop the knowledge, skills, abilities and confidence as a primary care homoeopathic practitioner to attend to the health needs of the community in a holistic manner
2) Correctly assess and clinically diagnose common clinical conditions prevalent in the community from time to time
3) Identify and incorporate the socio-demographic, psychological, cultural, environmental & economic factors affecting health and disease in clinical work
4) Recognize the scope and limitation of homoeopathy in order to apply Homoeopathic principles for curative, prophylactic, promotive, palliative, and rehabilitative primary health care for the benefit of the individual and community
5) Be willing and able to practice homoeopathy as per medical ethics and professionalism.
6) Discern the scope and relevance of other systems of medical practice for rational use of cross referrals and role of life saving measures to address clinical emergencies
7) Develop the capacity for critical thinking, self reflection and a research orientation as required for developing evidence based homoeopathic practice.
8) Develop an aptitude for lifelong learning to be able to meet the changing demands of clinical practice
9) Develop the necessary communication skills and enabling attitudes to work as a responsible team member in various healthcare settings and contribute towards the larger goals of national health policies such as school health, community health and environmental conservation.

AT THE END OF IST BHMS STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF:
Students should have knowledge to summarize the important milestones in the history of medicine and the development of homoeopathy.
Students should have knowledge about the contributions and qualities of Dr. Hahnemann as a physician and person.
Students should have knowledge about the cardinal principles and fundamental laws of homoeopathy and the concepts of health, disease, and cure in light of modern scientific advancements.
Students should have knowledge to analyze the importance of various editions and the ground plan of the Organon of Medicine.

AT THE END OF IIND BHMS STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF:
Students should understand the mission of a physician and the higher purpose of existence as per Hahnemann’s teachings.
Students should have knowledge to integrate the Hahnemannian concept of man with bio-psycho-social perspectives.
Students should have knowledge to recognize homoeopathy as a holistic and individualized medical science.
Students should have knowledge to analyze the concept of dynamism and vital force in understanding health, disease, diathesis, and cure.
Students should have knowledge to correlate the concepts of prevention, promotion, and cure in homoeopathy with modern approaches and understand the qualities of a healer and the role of the homoeopathic physician in bringing forth healing.
Students should study the philosophy of life and health by applying fundamental laws of homoeopathy.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOME – IIIRD BHMS
AT THE END OF IIIRD BHMS STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF
Students should have knowledge to comprehend the Organon of Medicine by analyzing the evolution of Hahnemann’s teachings across different editions and gain practical knowledge of applying homoeopathic principles in bedside clinical practice.
Students should develop skills in case individualization and understanding patient susceptibility.
Students should learn case processing methods, including analysis of symptoms, miasmatic diagnosis, and totality of symptoms and understand the process of selecting a similimum with correct potency and dosage.
Students should learn to prescribe an appropriate diet as part of holistic homoeopathic management.
Students should have knowledge to understand pathology and homoeopathic prognosis in different disease conditions and about one-sided diseases, their case-taking methods, and homoeopathic management strategies.

AT THE END OF IVTH BHMS STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF
Students should have knowledge to analyze the evolution of medical knowledge and disease concepts across different periods.
Students should have knowledge to comprehend the fundamental cause of chronic diseases, including the theory of miasms and their therapeutic utility.
Students should have knowledge about the different perspectives on miasmatic theories and their practical applications.
Students should have knowledge regarding symptom evaluation, miasmatic diagnosis, and understanding the totality of symptoms and its importance in case-taking and prescription.
Students should have knowledge about case individualization, prognosis, and general management with dietary and lifestyle modifications.
Students should gain proficiency in remedy selection and posology based on case analysis and develop competency in second prescription strategies and patient follow-up.

The scholar should have the knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice in Organon of Medicine and its application in patient management.
The scholar should have the knowledge of ethical standards in clinical practice and their implementation as per the principles of Organon of Medicine.
The scholar should have the knowledge of evaluating differential diagnosis using a symptom-based approach in clinical practice.
The scholar should have the knowledge of relating symptomatology and clinical examination findings with the principles of Organon of Medicine.
The scholar should have the knowledge of interpreting laboratory and diagnostic investigations in the light of clinical diagnosis and Organon of Medicine.
The scholar should have the knowledge of performing homoeopathic case-taking based on homoeopathic principles to derive an accurate clinical understanding.
The scholar should have the knowledge of identifying and relating different cause-and-effect relationships in the process of case-taking.
The scholar should have the knowledge of assembling data from case-taking and correlating it with appropriate homoeopathic medicines.
The scholar should have the knowledge of applying the direction of clinical management from a homoeopathic perspective for effective patient care.
The scholar should have the knowledge of relating the symptoms of drugs in Homoeopathic Materia Medica with the miasmatic background and susceptibility of the patient for individualized prescription.
